Ancholme

Draining North Lincolnshire with an outfall on the Humber at Ferriby Sluice, the Ancholme, canalised in the lower and most popular sections, has been enjoying something of a comeback in recent seasons after some years of neglect. Angling control on the whole of the river has recently been transferred from the Anglian Water Authority to Scunthorpe and District AA. A coarse fishery, the most popular species with anglers are roach and bream. Enquiries for matches and for day tickets on this water should be directed to the Scunthorpe Association.
