Arun Tributaries


Rising near Northchapel south east of Haslemere, the Kird flows through Kirdford to join the Arun near Wisborough Green. It offers coarse fish and the chance of occa- sional sea trout. This river, which joins the Arun at Stopham, offers similar fishing to the Arun with one major difference – the Rother was stocked with barbel from the River Severn some years ago (these fish went in at Coultershaw Mill). Again sea trout are occasionally caught and, in some sections, serious efforts have been made to develop brown trout fisheries.
