This short canal – about 5J miles -links the Aire and Calder Navigation near Cowick (Yorks) with the Sheffield and South Yorkshire Canal at Barnby Dun, near Don-caster. It is a coarse fishery which, at one time, was extremely popular for matches in the early part of the Yorkshire season. Results latterly have been variable. Access to this water, sometimes called the Sykehouse Canal by anglers, is good.
