Draining the southern slopes of the Mourne Mountains, this riverflows down to enter the Irish Sea at New castle (Co. Down). A short, spate river it offers double figure salmon and sea trout, usually from July, with brown trout in the upper reaches. Access for visitors is re asonable with some free stretches.
