Axe (Devon)

Mostly noted for game fish, the Axe rises in Dorset and flows via Axminster to enter the English Channel at Seaton. Though salmon, sea trout and trout are the main attraction, it has occasionally produced sizeable coarse fish, especially roach. Visitors are warned that strict regulations are applied by the Water Authority to the methods which may be employed for game fish.
